Knowing what your responsibility is and what is the Landlords can be confusing when you're living in a rental property. Here are a couple of key points:

During your tenancy the Landlord is responsible for the upkeep of the heating, hot water, lighting, sanitation and any appliances that were in the property at check-in, like the cooker or washing machine. But if you break something you will need to mend or replace it , this applies to not only crockery but windows, door locks and blocking the loo too!

At the end of your tenancy you will need to return the property to the Landlord or Agent in a similar condition to the way you received it. Usually this means arranging for the property to be fully cleaned; including inside all the cupboards & wardrobes, all the appliances in the kitchen and utility room plus floors, carpets, windows and curtains. You may also need to arrange for any items to be repaired, such as roller blinds & toilet seats or redecoration to some rooms. Its best to arrange for any necessary works and cleaning to be done once you have left the property and before you return the keys.

If you're not sure if you should pay for something just send an email to enquiries@gpmuk.com and we'll let you know, and of course we can organise everything for you: from contacting your Landlord to arranging the work.
